Resources and Ideas from Small Church Pastors

Bible Reading Plan

One church introduced a Bible reading plan each Wednesday for the week. The link to the new plan is shared and people can join in, get the Scriptures sent to them every day. They can also be part of the online group discussion about every verse. The You Version App will also make a picture of each Scripture every day that you can post on your churches’ Facebook or anywhere. It has been working well for those who want to be part of it.

You Version is a free Bible App. There is also a free Bible App for children.

Get Rooted: One Year Reading Journal

“Get Rooted:One Year Reading Journal” by Aaron Mark Reimer. This is to go through the Bible in a year or just the New Testament. It can be used personally but is best in a small accountability group of no more that 4 people. It helps a person to engage personally with Scripture.

Aaron can also get coil bound ones for a higher price as well as paperback. He is also working on expanding Get Rooted into a more comprehensive discipleship system for small churches. His next step is a series sermon notebooks for ages 5-Adult, making it easier for churches that need to keep the whole family together for the service to have kids connect with what’s going on at the front the whole time and learn to apply what they’re hearing.

“Ruth” by Karen Purdy is a video series which has a study guide on the book of Ruth. Karen can be contacted at
