Heads Up: Upcoming seminars

In November I will be teaching a seminar in two different locations on the subject of “Developing A Vision For Your Small Church.” The seminars will be held at Living Faith Community Presbyterian Church in Baxter (near Barrie) on Tuesday November 24th and at Glen Acres Baptist Church in Waterloo on Wednesday November 25th. For the past decade or more I have focused my attention on small churches. This seminar brings together all that I have learned over that time period. The following in taken from the introduction page to the seminar.

“Approximately 75% of all churches in Canada have fewer than one hundred and fifty people attending on a Sunday morning. That adds up to a lot of churches and a lot of people who are receiving their spiritual nourishment from those churches. The interesting thing is that that percentage is not a great deal different than it was fifty years ago in spite of the books that have been written, the seminars that have been presented, the courses that have been taught in seminaries, and the millions of dollars that have been spent by small church leaders trying to find the magic formula that will make them grow. Reality is that most churches are small and that is not going to change. The challenge is not to turn small churches into large churches. The challenge is to turn unhealthy churches into healthy ones that are having an impact on the people whom God has entrusted to them.
